These Marshmallow Pretzel Bars are a fun twist on Rice Krispies Treats. It’s an easy dessert you can make in about 15 minutes.

There’s a reason that Rice Krispies Treats are ubiquitous at potlucks and bake sales. They use just a few easy-to-find ingredients you might already have on hand. They’re quick to make (no baking required!). And they’re gooey, chewy, and candy-like—irresistible to kids and adults alike!
The best part is, different cereals and snacks lend themselves well to the Rice Krispies Treats treatment. I’ve made treats with Froot Loops, graham cereal, popcorn, and more.
This marshmallow pretzel bar recipe takes the formula to a whole new level. It’s a delightful combination of salty and sweet, crunchy and chewy, and chocolaty and peanut buttery. And it’s just as quick and easy to make as the original. Truly, crushing the pretzels is probably the most time-consuming part of the whole process.
If you have extra time and want to get fancy with it, try dipping half of each bar in melted chocolate and sprinkling them with sea salt or colored sprinkles. It’ll put an elegant finishing touch on these treats.

How to cut the finished marshmallow pretzel bars
To get the cleanest cut, make sure the marshmallow pretzel bars are completely cooled and set. This takes about one hour. You can even refrigerate the pan for 20 minutes to firm them up even more. Using the foil as a sling, lift the bars out of the pan and set them on a cutting surface. Spray a long chef’s knife or serrated knife with cooking spray or rub lightly with butter. Pressing straight down with the knife, cut the bars into pieces, making three cuts in each direction to divide the panful into 16 bars. If the knife gets sticky, wash the blade in warm water, coat it in oil or butter again, and continue cutting.

How do I store leftovers?
Pretzel marshmallow bars will keep, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, for up to 5 days at room temperature. The pretzel pieces might lose their crunch after 1 to 2 days, but they will still be delicious. It is not recommended to freeze these treats.
