Why You Will Love This Recipe

  • The balance of zest and sweet in this dressing. The mayonnaise adds a lovely tangy flavor and a creamy texture that you will love.
  • It goes perfectly with so many salads, as well as wraps and dips. It just might become your go-to dressing.
  • The satisfaction of making your own dressing rather than using store-bought. There’s something to be said for self-reliance — especially when it’s so easy to achieve with this recipe!
  • Homemade is healthier. You don’t need to worry about all the chemicals going into the store-bought stuff. The ingredients in this dressing are all listed below
Fresh ingredients for baking including lemon, black sesame seeds, matcha powder, yogurt, honey, and salt.

What To Serve Poppy Seed Dressing With

Here are some recipes from the Baked Bree vault that would work wonderfully with this poppy seed dressing. Try them out!

Strawberry Chicken Salad – Mixed greens with sliced strawberries, pecans, crumbled blue cheese, and honey poppy-seed dressing.

Roasted Pepper Salad – This Roasted Pepper Salad is so beautiful and so simple to prepare. Cut up some peppers, grill them slightly and drizzle them with this poppy seed dressing.

Air-Fryer Everything Chicken Fingers – Air Fryer Everything Chicken Fingers with this dressing as a dip is an incredibly easy way to make the most crispy and crunchy homemade chicken fingers — soaked chicken with an everything bagel seasoning coating, you can’t go wrong!

Mediterranean Salad – This salad is a great base for a healthy and nutritious meal. Pick a protein or cheese to add to it (my favorite is feta) and replace the pomegranate lemon dressing with this poppy seed dressing and you’ve got dinner sorted.

My honey isn’t dissolving when I shake the jar.

Ah, this can happen. Try adding the mayonnaise afterwards when you add the oil or just use a fork to get it all whisked up together.

How To Store Poppy Seed Dressing

Poppy seed dressing — like most dressings — needs to be stored in the fridge. Put it in an airtight container or a resealable jar. This will prevent cross-contamination and odors from seeping in our out. If kept properly, the dressing should keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge. While you can freeze this dressing, its consistency and texture will change. If you do decide to freeze it though, leave some room in the airtight container for expansion. Let it thaw in the fridge overnight when it comes time to use it again.
