Cheesy, garlicky, and herby, you’ll soon realize why this baked Boursin pasta took TikTok by storm.

Try a bite of this pasta, and you’ll understand immediately why it went viral. The way the Boursin melts into the olive oil and roasted onions creates a rich, silky sauce that’s perfectly cut by the burst of tomatoes. The cheese is herby and garlicky, creating a perfect play between savory and fresh flavors. You’ll reach for one more forkful, then another. And another.
This dish tastes indulgent but requires minimal effort. With the exception of boiling the pasta, everything gets tossed into one baking dish before being ready to plate. In the oven, the cheese melts, the tomatoes blister, and the garlic and onion infuse everything with more depth. Once you toss in the pasta, the whole thing transforms into a luxurious, complete dish. Forget the long list of ingredients or the fancy techniques; you can make something special tonight with just a few simple steps. Add a few torn basil leaves at the end, and you have a truly restaurant-worthy dish—one that would make TikTok proud.

What is Boursin cheese?
Boursin is a dairy product created by cheesemaker François Boursin in Normandy, France. In 1961, a local newspaper mistakenly reported that the enterprising cheesemaker was creating a spreadable cheese infused with garlic, much to the public’s delight. However, François had no such plans. He quickly worked to meet demand and, a few years later, introduced the world to his creation: Gournay cheese blended with garlic and herbs. A hit was born, and today, you can find various flavors of Boursin cheese in most major grocery stores.
How do I store leftovers?
Let the pasta cool completely, then transfer it to an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. When reheating, add a splash of water or olive oil to loosen the sauce as it warms. You can freeze it for up to 2 months, though the texture of the cheese will change once thawed. For the best flavor and creaminess, it’s worth enjoying fresh from the oven.

Serving suggestions
When plating up this baked Boursin pasta, I like to pair it with simple sides that don’t compete with its richness. A fresh House Salad or Caesar Salad helps balance the creamy sauce, and Garlic Bread or warm Garlic Breadsticks are perfect for soaking up the leftovers. If you want to turn it into a full dinner, serve it with roasted vegetables or a light protein like grilled shrimp or chicken.

Hi! Thank you for this recipe! Do you happen to have nutrition info on this dish?
Hi KC, I have added the nutrition info on the recipe card. Cheers
You say one onion and then two small red onions. Do you mean shallot instead of the one onion?
Hi Ruth, good catch! I have corrected the recipe, I actually only used the red onions in this recipe. Hope you enjoy it!
HELLO!
I used Rondele soft cheese. It’s over a dollar cheaper and it’s larger. It’s found right next to the Boursin cheese in deli section.
Add garlic bread and some wine – perfect meal.
I saw somewhere that it was suggested to add fresh asparagus
This recipe will fit in nicely with my Meatless Monday rotation
That’s fantastic to hear! I’m all about finding great alternatives and saving a few bucks, using Rondele is a very smart move. Thanks for sharing.
It’s great, however, the onions and garlic were a tad crunchy for me. I cooked it again but gave the onions and garlic a head start in the oven to caramelize them a bit and get rid of the crunchiness
Thanks for reading and rating!
