A most wonderful way to make a beloved old-fashioned dessert.

If you are looking for the easiest way to make a dessert no one can resist, you have definitely come to the right place! Say hello to Crock-Pot peach cobbler! Warm and comforting, bursting with bright, peachy flavor and fluffy topping, this recipe is so easy that now there will never be a reason not to have a homemade dessert!
I know we home cooks love to make everything from scratch, but sometimes life gets in the way, and we need shortcuts, right? That’s where our Crock-Pots come in. It’s such a gift to be able to put all the ingredients for a delicious dinner into the Crock-Pot in the morning, set it, and go about our day getting everything done, knowing we will be coming home to a perfectly cooked, wonderful meal. So why not the same effortless approach to dessert?
Who can resist juicy peaches with warm cinnamon finished with a pastry topping? In the case of this recipe, that topping is a box of yellow cake mix. You will not believe how perfectly this works. And the taste and textures? Simply divine. Another great thing about this recipe is that there is virtually no cleanup. It’s a one-bowl wonder where everything gets mixed together and then into the Crock-Pot it goes. Three hours later, your sweet, fruity cobbler will be ready to be spooned into a bowl.
But wait! Don’t forget to top that warm cobbler with a big scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream or, for an even richer treat, try this Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Why Cake Mix?
That’s a very good question, and I have a very good answer!
As I said earlier, a lot of the time we like to make everything from scratch, and that is very true for desserts. But it’s also great to have a delectable dessert recipe that takes hardly any time to assemble. Instead of having to pull out all the dry ingredients for a cobbler topping, for this recipe, all you have to do is open a box that already includes perfectly measured amounts of flour, sugar, leavening, and salt. Usually, when you make a cake from a boxed mix, you’d add some eggs, but we’re making cobbler, not cake, so we don’t need eggs. You would also add vegetable oil, but we’re replacing that fat with the best-tasting baking fat there is: butter. When the Crock-Pot has done its magic, you will have a cobbler featuring sweet and tender peaches surrounded by some buttery pastry love.

FAQs & Tips
How Do I Store Leftovers?
You can store the cooled cobbler wrapped in plastic wrap on the counter for 1 day. Transfer it to an airtight container to store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Will This Recipe Work With Other Fruits?
It certainly will. It is lovely with apples or apricots, for sure, but you can also use cherries or your favorite berries (no matter what kind of fruit you use, be sure to have 4 cups).
Isn’t Cobbler Usually Made With A Biscuit Topping?
It often is, yes. But one of the things that distinguishes cobblers from crisps or crumbles is that the topping is more substantial, so cake batter—and even cookie dough—are popular replacements for biscuits.

Serving Suggestions
Although I do make Crock-Pot cobblers year-round, I particularly like them in the summer when I am reluctant to turn on my oven. So in those steamy months, I love to have an oven- and stove-free dinner by making Grilled BBQ Chicken, Grilled Corn In The Husk, and this cobbler. Yum.
While it doesn’t happen often, sometimes there is leftover cobbler. I have always loved peach melba (peaches and raspberry sauce over vanilla ice cream), so I do my own version by filling a bowl with peach cobbler, then topping it with Poached Peaches With Raspberries and then topping that combo with ice cream or Homemade Whipped Cream. I also love to do parfaits by layering leftover cobbler with this rich Mascarpone Whipped Cream, Orange Marmalade, and chopped up Orange And Rosemary Pecans.

Crock-Pot Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
- 4 cups sliced peaches fresh or canned and drained
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter sliced thinly
- Vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir to coat the peaches evenly.

- Pour the peach mixture into the slow cooker. Evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the peaches. Arrange the thin butter slices on top of the cake mix, covering as much of the dry mix as you can.

- Cover the slow cooker and set it to high. Cook for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until the top is golden and the peaches are bubbly on the sides.

- Serve the peach cobbler warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
