Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Hull and slice the strawberries.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.

  • Lower the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and the sauce thickens.

  • Take the sauce off the heat and allow it to cool. It will thicken more as it cools down.
