Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the apple slices with cornstarch, brown sugar, lemon juice, nutmeg and 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon until well coated.
Spread the apple mixture in an even layer in an 8-inch square baking dish.
In a separate medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, and the salt.
Add the cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or two forks to blend until the mixture forms small crumbles.
Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
