This recipe is simple, easy and will take your salmon game to a whole new level!

If you’re trying to eat healthy, if you’re trying to get in your protein – salmon is the way to go! According to the NY Times, salmon delivers more DHA and EPA omega-3s than almost any other food, apart from other fatty fish like herring and sardines. Why is this important? Well, omega-3 fatty acids play a vital role in heart and brain health. They’ve been linked to a strong immune system, reduced inflammation and better-regulated blood pressure, reducing the risk for heart disease and cognitive decline. Most people in the U.S. don’t get enough omega-3s in their diets, so instead of taking a hard-to-swallow horse pill, why not have some delicious, melt-in-your-mouth salmon?
Now, we can’t write about salmon without addressing a big salmon debate: wild-caught salmon vs. farmed salmon. Which one should you buy? The answer is: it’s complicated. Salmon’s gotten so popular that the wild stock swimming in open waters has gone way down. If you can get your hands on wild salmon, it does contain a lower amount of organic pollutants and contaminants than farmed salmon, according to the Cleveland Clinic. However, they both deliver all the health benefits mentioned above.
If you are like me, salmon is not a home run unless I can dunk it in a ramekin full of soy sauce, or “joy sauce” as I call it. Luckily, this recipe has me running the bases because it includes soy sauce, and as a bonus, sesame seeds which I love. They add a nutty flavor and crunchy texture to these savory bites.
You will love this recipe because it’s delicious and the Salmon Bites are so simple to make with only 5 ingredients needed! Also, there’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to when you serve this dish. It’s perfect as an appetizer, lunch, or dinner!

The Secret to Perfect Salmon Bites…
Marinate, marinate, marinate – that’s the trick to the perfect Salmon Bite. If you have the time, let the salmon marinate for 30 minutes or up to 6 hours in the fridge. Also, make sure the oil in the skillet is hot before adding the salmon, and then try not to move the salmon around as it cooks. That will help you get a gorgeous, golden-brown crust. You know the salmon is done when it turns opaque and flakes easily when you put a fork in it. After plating the bites, take the leftover sauce from the skillet and pour it right on top of the bites. Make each bite burst with flavor!

How to Make Ahead and Store?
Store the bites in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For best results, reheat in a skillet. For freezing, wrap the cooled salmon tightly in plastic cling wrap or put it in a sealed freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.

Serving Suggestions
As mentioned, these salmon bites can be an appetizer, lunch or dinner. They can be whatever you want them to be! Want them as a snack? Then eat them on crackers or toasted bread. For more of a meal, you could put the bites in a bowl over Baked Rice. Or, instead of rice, you could do peanut noodles or Quinoa.
When it comes to sides for these salmon bites, keep it simple with a salad, or some Roasted Brussels Sprouts. You could also try some Garlic Mashed Potatoes which make a fantastic side for pretty much anything.
