Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon high-heat cooking oil olive, avocado, canola, grapeseed, etc.

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined—avoid overmixing, which can make patties tough.

  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty that’s about 1/2 inch thick for even cooking.

  • Heat your chosen oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add the patties to the skillet in a single layer.

  • Cook the patties undisturbed for 7–8 minutes per side, or until the patties are golden brown and an instant-read thermometer reaches 165°F in the center.
