Instructions
In a saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Whisk in the water.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Whisk in the butter. The sauce should be smooth and glossy. Take the pan off the heat and add the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt, if desired.
Pour the sauce into a jar and use as desired.
