Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar divided
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  • In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed.

  • Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then roll in remaining 1/4 cup sugar.
