How to Make Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 3 pounds fresh red tomatoes any variety, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper ground

Instructions
 

  • In a large heavy-bottomed pot, drizzle in the olive oil, then add the diced onion, oregano, and garlic and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes.
