Colorful jar of assorted coffee capsules on a marble surface with a caramel-flavored iced coffee in a glass mug.

My sister came to visit a few weeks ago and we were working on an e-book project together. (Hint – it has to do with my favorite holiday.) We worked really, really hard in a very short amount of time. We needed a pick me up, so she made us iced cappuccinos. She makes the best iced coffee beverage in the entire world. This drink was exactly what we needed to get moving again. And I have made myself one most afternoons ever since.

When she pulled out the sweetened condensed milk, I was skeptical. She told me to have some faith, and I am ever so glad that I did. It makes the cappuccino slightly sweet and even more magical. The cinnamon on top, well, that is my favorite part.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a Nespresso event here in DC, and they generously gave me a new Vertuoline machine. I hesitated to buy a Nespresso machine for years because I drink more coffee than espresso, but this machine makes both. Even if they didn’t give me one, I would have bought this machine. As soon as it came to the house, I realized that the frother (Aerocinno if you are super fancy) needed to live here too. I stocked up on capsules and have had to restock twice.

Wes and I have all of the sudden become coffee snobs. There really is a difference. This machine makes the most gorgeous cup of coffee. The crema at the top of the cup is so frothy and feels incredibly indulgent.

These are the capsules that the Nespresso uses. Aren’t they beautiful? I want to make an art project with them. Brew one espresso capsule. I let it cool a bit and froth the almond milk while it is cooling. Fill a quart mason jar with ice. Add the sweetened condensed milk. Pour the espresso and frothed milk over the ice. Shake until really frothy and combined. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Disclaimer – Nespresso gave me a Vertuoline machine as a gift. I purchased the frother and additional capsules on my own. I would have bought this machine regardless, I love it.
