Grilling season is upon us again and you know what that means, it’s time to break out the charcoal and the BBQ. A perfect way to start the grilling season off right is with this grilled ribs recipe. It’s easy, simple, fast and takes very little time or effort, yet the flavors are so good your friends will think you hired a BBQ pit master. These sticky, sweet and savory ribs are the perfect way to start off the grilling season.
Just because this recipe for grilled ribs is an easy one, it does not mean it lacks in flavor, absolutely not! These fall-off-the-bone ribs are incredibly delicious, and a real summer staple at our house. As soon as my neighbors see the BBQ come out for the season, they come over asking if it is time to make ribs again. Every time we cook up a batch of these grilled ribs, they are a hit. No matter if it’s a party, picnic, or family BBQ these tender and juicy ribs are gone in a flash. I always laugh when I’m at the grill cooking as I can just tell my guests are waiting for the moment they can pounce on a freshly plated batch of my grilled ribs.

Ribs – A Summer Staple
When we think of summer we think of grilling, and the two go hand in hand, like cookies and milk or peanut butter and jelly. Don’t get me wrong, burgers and dogs are wonderful but I believe everyone should have a recipe like this grilled ribs in their back pocket. One of those “turns out perfect every time” kind of recipes, the one your friends and family ask for by name. An easy yet delicious recipe that is sure to turn heads at any and every function you serve them at.

How to Make Ahead and Store?
To make it ahead of time, simply follow the above recipe as directed, next cool down your ribs and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Personally, I like to cut the ribs into smaller more manageable sections before I store them. This makes reheating and eating them later much easier.

Serving Suggestions
These delicious grilled ribs are a hit at any function or event I bring them to, and as soon as I show up I’m asked “Did you bring ribs today?” I just have to laugh, I really don’t mind being the one that everyone thinks is always bringing delicious food.
I often bring along one of my favorite side dishes as well, like this Vegetarian Pasta Salad, or our Summer Pasta Salad. Another crowd-pleasing dish is this Mango Avocado Salad, it’s got a bit of sweetness and the right of amount of savory goodness. It’s really easy to show up with great food when working with recipes like these and I do love putting smiles on people’s faces.

Grilled Ribs
Ingredients
- 1 rack baby back pork ribs
- 1/2 cup dry pork rub
- 1 cup apple juice
- 1/2 cup fruit preserves such as peach or apricot
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Aluminum foil
Instructions
- Remove the baby back pork ribs from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Prepare a large disposable aluminum tray by coating with oil.

- Apply the dry pork rub generously to the back of the ribs, pressing firmly to adhere. Optionally, cut the rack in half for easier handling.

- Turn the ribs over and season the meaty side, discarding any excess rub. Pour apple juice into the tray, cover with foil, and refrigerate until the grill is ready.

- Preheat the grill to 300°F, aiming for consistent indirect heat by adjusting the burners as needed.
- Clean and oil the grill grates, then place the tray of ribs on the grill. Cover and cook for about 1 hour, or until the ribs reach an internal temperature of 180°F to 190°F for tenderness.
- Remove ribs from the tray and place directly on the grill grates over low heat.
- In a small pot, combine fruit preserves and apple cider vinegar. Heat until well mixed, then remove from heat.

- Glaze the ribs with the preserve mixture, cover the grill, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Glaze once more and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Rest the ribs on a cutting board for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
