This fun Candy Corn Halloween Parfait took about 15 minutes to make. It was a huge hit with my under-6 crowd and also the over-30 crowd.

Delicious Candy Corn Parfait with layers of chocolate, vanilla, and candy corn toppings.

One of the perks of being a food blogger is that I get invited to use fun products and be as creative as I want with them. I had a few ideas in my head, I had some complicated pops and cookies, but I thought that this creation was something that I would love to bring to Will’s class Halloween party. Easy and kid-friendly. It is so fun and festive and different than the average Halloween cupcake or cookie. For more Halloween treat ideas, you might also like Witch Finger Cookies. You could put the parfait in clear plastic cups and they would travel really well.

Colorful snacks and cereal on kitchen counter, Jello pudding, cocoa puffs, candy corn, and sprinkles for baking and recipe ideas.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of instant chocolate pudding (or homemade of course)
  • 1 box of French vanilla pudding (or regular vanilla)
  • Cocoa Puffs
  • whipped cream
  • candy corn
  • yellow gel color
  • orange gel color
  • Halloween sprinkles

How To – The Steps

Step 1:

Get all of the components ready. Make the chocolate and vanilla pudding. Divide the vanilla in half. If you are using French vanilla, it is already yellow, but if you are using plain vanilla, add a few drops of yellow to it. With the other half, use the orange food coloring to make it orange.

FAQs //

Can I use something other than pudding?

As a matter of fact, I did! I realized I could use yogurt instead of pudding to create breakfast parfaits. And if you’re making the switch to a morning meal, you can experiment with the type of cereal you include. (It’s up to you whether you want the candy corn, though!)

Is there a healthy version?

Of course! Replace the Cocoa Puffs with this homemade granola, replace the candy with fruit (berries, for example), and as noted above, switch out the pudding with plain Greek yogurt, and you’ve got a parfait for breakfast and dessert.

Why is my pudding not getting thick?

Be sure to bring the pudding to a boil and continue to cook it, stirring constantly, until it thickens. If the pudding does not contain enough starch or the starch is not fully dissolved, the pudding may not thicken. Make sure to follow the recipe’s instructions for adding and dissolving the starch. Pudding needs time to set and thicken. If you try to remove it from the heat too soon, it may not have had enough time to fully set and thicken. Allow the pudding to cool and set before serving.

How To Store Candy Corn Parfaits

These parfaits are best eaten within a few days of being assembled. This will ensure that the pudding and is fresh and the cereal doesn’t get soggy. Keep them refrigerated until ready to serve. If you need to transport the parfaits, seal the top of the jar or glass with a lid or plastic wrap to prevent spills and keep the parfaits fresh. For appearances’ sake, you can transport your parfaits then add the whipped cream and garnish upon arriving at your destination.
